A living room is the focal point of any home. It's where everyone gathers, where precious family moments are spent. The room is a blank canvas, and how you decorate it tells others who you are.
Fairly self explanatory right? A living room is a blank canvas? Fairly cliche and cheesy, but it's true!
Living rooms are the heart of the house, the place where the family gathers to make memories. I think South Park did a whole episode on that? Right?
Well, our living room is massive!

The living room in our new house is HUGE! We've never had a living room this large! I've decorated it a little bit, but a serious remodel is needed.
I'm talking painting, new curtains, repaint trim, new furniture...the works!

Currently, we have a few cute buffalo-check accents that make the living room very nice and county! However, I'd be amiss if I said I was totally happy with my living room set up.
I've got so many ideas, but can't seem to light on one! I do know, however, that I am in desperate need of some pops of COLOR!
Color, color, glorious color!
I'm partial to a lovely green! But I have to see what base pallet I want to start with!

I like more muted tones, with accents of color. This one above doesn't have the color pops that I want, but has some of the base color tones that I like!

I'm a fan of lots of light browns and light grays. However, my experience has been that gray tends to be too dark, especially if you don't have a lot of natural light. I'm not sure what a light brown would do. Our house has a lot of nice tall windows with great natural light. So it's worth a shot I suppose.
"Little by little, the bird makes its nest."
I'm so torn on color ideas, to gray or not to gray. Brown or is it too much brown? There seem to be an endless amount of possibilities as well as misfortunes. Right now we've got way too much brown in our living room with the furniture. I hope that by adding curtains (possibly white) it will help lighten the room until I decide on a wall color. Until then, it's small surface level things.
A house is always projects however, forever changing and adapting to those who live there. I'm really excited to see how this home molds to us!
