This is a fantastic recipe for a falls night around the bonfire or a quiet evening with friends! (As long as you're over 21 of course lol) There are a lot of variations of this recipe, and I've tried at least six different ones. However, after taking what I liked and didn't like from each one, I found a combo that works well for me! So if you're brave enough to try it, here you go!
The Recipe:
Serving: 1 Mule
Ingredients
1) Apple Juice (1 cup)
2) Cinnamon Sticks (4)
3) Caramel Vodka (2 shots)
4) Ice
5) Pumpkin Pie Spice (McCormick sells a small container of it that's amazing!)
6) Ginger beer (This is like ginger ale, just a LOT stronger. It isn't alcoholic and can usually be found with Root Beer in most grocery stores.)
Apple Cider:
Instructions:
If you're like me, you don't want to spend ten dollars on pre-made cider that you'll never use again. I usually make my own in this quick easy recipe.
Take one cup of apple juice and pour it into a small sauce pan
Put three cinnamon sticks in the apple juice, bring to a simmer and cover. Let simmer for about 5-10 minutes to really get the flavor in.
Boom! Homemade apple cider!
Pumpkin Spice Mules:
Instructions:
Sit apple cider aside to cool.
Take your mug and fill the bottom with a good helping of ice
Slowly pour two shots of vodka into the mug. It is important to put the vodka in first over the ice! Helps the drink's taste and to mix well.
Add a few more cubes of ice over the vodka
After the apple cider is sufficiently cooled, slowly pour the cider in the mug
Fill the rest of the mug up with ginger beer
Drizzle pumpkin pie spice over the top and add a cinnamon stick for pizzazz
Viola! You've got yourself a Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule! Make sure to play with the ginger beer to apple cider ratio to find the combo that you like the most! Those two can vary the taste wildly!
Now go show off your mixing skills!
